How to make coffee before your appointment

BEFORE YOUR
APPOINTMENT

Have a cup of coffee...

Preparing for the coffee reading is as important as the reading! Take your time to relax, unwind and reward yourself with a delicious Turkish style coffee.  While you drink your coffee, try to collect your thoughts and think of the people and events in your life you may be at crossroads with, or are simply searching for guidance, answers or status updates on.

How to prepare your coffee

Selection of Turkish coffee
Select the right coffee cup for reading

First, you will need either Turkish coffee, or other very finely grinded coffee to your liking.

Second, you will need a white coffee cup that's wider at the top and round at the bottom without any incrustations inside the coffee cup, as shown in the picture above. Pour the water content of the coffee cup in a small coffee pot.

Wait for the water to start boiling and add a tablespoon of the ground coffee into the boiling water and stir it, while reducing the heat because the coffee will start boiling fast and may run out of the pot. Keep the coffee pot on the reduced heat for couple of minutes and take it off the stove.

Select a coffee pot
how to use a strainer

Use a strainer to avoid larger chunks of coffee grounds dropping into the cup and pour the coffee in slowly.

what sweatners to avoid

You can add sweeteners to your liking, but avoid honey or large cubes of sugar unless you stir it while it is dissolved completely. Sit back, relax and sip your coffee. Leave a sip of coffee along with the coffee grounds at the bottom of the cup

how to swirl your coffee cup

Once done, cover your cup with the plate and while holding the cup and the plate at the top, gently swirl it three times clockwise and then flip the cup onto the plate.

how to form the coffee grounds in your cup

Take a napkin and place the cup on it to allow the coffee grounds to dry. Take a picture of the plate. Wait about 5 minutes for the coffee to dry and then flip your coffee cup up.  If the coffee grounds are not completely dry, you may have to let it dry on the napkin a bit longer to avoid washing the images away.

how to take pictures of your coffee cup

Take a picture from the top of the cup and a few pictures of each side of the cup walls, and if there is coffee on the outside of the cup.

Once you have checked that your images are clear, make a wish and swirl your thumb at the bottom of your cup.  Take a picture of your thumb and the bottom of your cup.

Here are a few notes of what to avoid:

Mugs, deep cups with edges and incrustations on the inside of a cup are only going to make the reading impossible.

Blurry images or images taken at a dim light may make it hard to read your coffee cup.

I know it may seem elaborate, but it's actually a quick, pleasant and mainly traditional coffee ceremony in preparation of your personalized coffee reading and it it is the only way to ensure your reading is authentic and personalized to you.

Please ensure you have good lighting, the images are clear and e-mail it to me prior to your appointment at: julia@coffeerevealed.com with your name in the e-mail subject.
